BIOGRAPHY

Chase Spencer's influences of nineties alternative rock and acoustic folk, along with his crisp vocals creates a warm sense of nostalgia; his song writing technique produces an innovative and distinctive sound that is becoming his own signature style. With a full band behind him, his energetic stage presence makes you want to get up, sing along, and stomp your feet.

Chase Spencer has his roots on Vancouver Island, a place where his musical tastes matured while listening to classic rock, country and pop. It was here where his own blend of these genres merged with the island indie/roots style, resulting in an original sound he could call his own.

He released his debut single, “I Wanted You”, in the summer of 2015. After playing several shows on Vancouver Island following the release of this single, it was time to to go international. Chase ventured on a two-month tour of Vietnam promoting the song and opening for Los Borrachos, as well as being the drummer for their band. He played countless shows with great success and formed a loyal following in Ho Chi Minh City.

Chase spent the next year abroad in Australia travelling and focusing on writing songs for his next release. Since returning to Canada in 2017, he has played numerous shows in Vancouver, Victoria and surrounding areas. Some shows include the Five Acre Shaker music festival, opening for 54-40,  Daniel Wesley, The Matinee, Shred Kelly and touring Western Canada.

He recorded with producer Lance Lapointe (VIMA Musician of the Year) and Malcolm Owen Flood (Band of Rascals) at Woodshop Recording Studios throughout 2018. The lead single from his EP, “Whiskey”, was mixed & mastered by Jason "JVP" Van Poederooyen in Los Angeles and released in early 2018. From these recordings, he released a 5-song EP in early 2020 entitled, "Westcoast/Eastcoast".

During the pandemic, Chase released two contrasting singles in 2021 - "December" & "See The Light". Since finishing recording his newest single, "Heart Out", with JVP (Simple Plan, Scott Helman, Keith Urban) which is due to be released in 2023, he is working on a new record with Ryan Worsley (Dear Rouge, MONOWHALES, Nuela Charles) & David Ziehr at Echoplant Recording Studios in Vancouver, BC.
